Glossybox June 2013

June’s Glossybox has arrived and I couldn’t be more excited to see what they have included in their Summer Looks box! I mainly wear make up in the summer or when going out so Glossybox is perfect for me as the products can last quite a while.

GB June 2013

The first thing I noticed in the box was the Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm (available here). I am attracted to anything pink and pretty so I love this, and the size is perfect to throw into my bag. The product smells slightly of roses, however I would have liked it a little stronger, and it’s slightly glittery which I’m not feeling for day time lips. But it makes my lips nice and soft so lip balm, you can stay.

Next is the Organic Surge Colour Protect Conditioner (available here). I haven’t tried this out yet but it smells utterly wonderful and I’m really excited to try it! I have ombre hair so I’m hoping that this will keep it healthy.

I’ve never really tried any MeMeMe products but this MeMeMe Long Lasting Nail Gloss in Amorous (available here) is beautiful. I’m a huge fan of red nail varnish, it’s my go to colour when I’m indecisive so this excited me! The super wide brush is great to put the coats on easily and it just looks lovely after two coats.

I’m hoping Helen E Eye Pencil with Smudger (available here) becomes a staple in my make up bag. I’m still looking for a good eye liner and smudger combo. It goes on really smoothly feels nice and has great staying power.

Finally is the Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15 (available here). The product is thick and so far it’s made my skin nice and soft so far. I usually use tinted moisturiser for the daytime so it’ll be interested to see how this turns out after a while.

Have you enjoyed your Glossybox this month? What are your favourite products?

Sunday Social

Hi there. If you’ve joined from Sunday Social, a big welcome to you. Thank you for stopping by, why not stay a while? I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday, the weather in the UK has certainly been delightful; I even wore a skirt without tights or leggings! I’m sure I’ve not done that since school. Although the years of covering my legs up means I have really white legs and really brown feet. It’s a cracking look guys, I’m surprised ol’ Victoria Beckham hasn’t been rocking it. Also, before we crack on, today is BON JOVI DAY! Oh wow, I am so excited! I bought this ticket for my mums Christmas present and it’s finally here. So as you read this, the likelihood is that I’ll be screaming along to Always or Living On a Prayer.

Comedy [Friday Five]

Hi there! If you've hopped on over from the Five on Friday link up then welcome! It's lovely to see you, wont you stay a while?

Last night I had a very impromptu night with involved a press film screening (I can’t say anything about it for now, but it is definitely my film of 2013 so far!), a comedy night and late-night burritos. During the random comedy night we stumbled upon, I decided to do todays Friday Five on my favourite comedians. I discovered most of these comedians at a monthly comedy night my friends put on in Balham (it’s called Rise of the Idiots by the way, and it’s on the first Sunday of every month).

1. Joel Dommett
I’ve seen him a ridiculous amount of times and even though he repeats jokes now and again, it just doesn’t get old. More information here.
Favourite moment: Crashing into a car door and falling into the drivers lap.

2. James Acaster
James Acaster just makes me laugh. You know when a comedian just has that hilarious demeanour? That’s him. Even with just one look, you will be in tears (of laughter, I hope, or else I’ve built him up way too much). More information here.
Favourite moment: Hardest job ever.

3. Eric Lampaert
The grin guy from the Up Your Viva adverts. Yes, you recognise him now! More information here.
Favourite moment: French Spiderman.

4. Rob Deering (not so lesser known)
Ahhh Rob Deering, what a hilarious man. He does lots of jokes with music and things. And he’s reet funny with it. More information here.
Favourite moment: I Feel Wonderful Tonight

5. Sara Pascoe
I originally saw Sara on a Channel 4 show called Campus. Then I saw her stand up and just loved her. More information here.
Favourite moment: Take That

And a little bonus – Greg Davies
Also know as the Head of Sixth Form from the Inbetweeners. His material comes from both his parents and his teaching years. Cue the most hilarious comedy gig I’ve ever been to. More information here.
Favourite moment: Everything he’s ever said.

Go forth and laugh!

May Favourites

So here we are, it’s June. I mean, woah now 2013, don’t go too fast please! And the end of the month means it’s time for my May favourites. Just a small one for my first favourites post. I have four items that I have been loving over the past month! I just can’t get enough of them and I’m going to share them with you.

May Favourites

The first is the MUA Artiste Collection (available here for £6); I’ve never been a huge make up wearer, saving it for nights out or sunglasses days, so a multi-tasking pallet is a huge step for me! I’d originally been looking for a matte bronzer on a budget and came across this little beauty. I haven’t used all the shadows but I find Mocca (second from left) and Chocolate (second from the right) perfect for a daytime look. I have two issues though. One is that the bronzer/highligher/blushers are rather small so when you tap your brush in there it tends to go all over the place. The second is that, although it lasts for a while, it’s not crease proof. It’ll stay put for a while but by the end of the day it’s all bunched in the crease.

Keeping it in the MUA family, we have the MUA Power Pout in Rendezvous (available here for £3). My own review can be found here so I’m not going to go into too much depth. All I will say is that I LOVE IT!

I tend to keep my hair natural and curly in the day, so all I will do is diffuse it with some curly spray. However if I’m going out, I like to have a bit more volume and texture to it and I’ve found that the V05 Dry Texturising Spray (available at Boots for £3.49). I roughly straighten my hair and then spray this into the ends, scrunching and messing as I go. It doesn’t last all night on it’s own but a little hairspray helps it go a long way.

Finally is the Essie in Cute as a Button (available at Superdrug for £7.99) that I got with a recent Glossybox. This colour is adorable for Summer! It’s really a bright and beautiful. I’ve shied away from the brighter nail colours but this has changed my mind. Thanks Essie!

That’s all for now. What have you been loving in the month of May?
