Jobs [Sunday Social]

1. What is your dream job?
If I could do ANYTHING it would be an events planner, it’s partly what I studied at university. But to be honest, I couldn’t give up teaching for a long time cause I love it.

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?
Dog walking. Sounds silly non? But I love dogs and I can’t have one right now so walking for other people is perfect.

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Don’t stress and spend all your time planning. I’m at a point at the moment where I love planning so I don’t mind, but I dedicate one day to it and try not to do anything in the week.

4. What would be your ideal "just for fun" job?
I’m not sure, I’ll have to get back to you on that one!

5. What was your first "real" job?
I was a waitress at my local Golf Club. I enjoyed it quite a bit but stopped when I moved to uni.

And that is it for Sunday Social this week. I’m back with blogs posts scheduled for the week! IT feels ages since I’ve written something that’s not for the Social.

A Very Quick Update...

Hello there.

So at the moment there constantly seems to be something stopping me from getting my blog on! This time it's that my blogging laptop has no battery. Me and boyfriend share a charger and he took it to work, leaving my poor laptop with no juice. There are posts there ready for your pleasure but I can't get to them right now.

In other news... I'm going home for the funeral tomorrow morning, and will be back in London on Saturday (I'm also off to see a wedding venue that day - I'll let you know how that goes) so I'll be back for Sunday Social. See you then!

Bags [Sunday Social]

Hello there! I gave myself a nice week off from blogging as I was pretty exhausted with everything that had been going on. But I’m back, and with loads of posts ready to come out! To ease back in, it’s time for this weeks Sunday Social!

1. What is your favorite handbag you've ever owned?
I really love my current Topshop bag. It’s not too big, not too small and fits in everything that I need it to.

2. What is your dream handbag you lust over?
I’d love a Mulberry! Maybe with my first real teacher pay cheque I could treat myself (unlikely!).

3. What are the daily essentials in your purse or work bag?
I always have hand cream, lip balm, purse, phone and keys. If I’m being organised, I’ll have my diary but that doesn’t always happen.

4. What's in your purse (with pictures)?
It’s pretty full at the moment, I need to try and cut down the amount I carry!

I have my purse and Oyster card

A Belated Sunday Social

Hi there. Firstly, I must apologise the lack of the last of my Thailand posts. Sadly my Granddad passed away on Friday afternoon so I wasn’t really feeling like sitting at my laptop this weekend. As well as that, I went to two beautiful weddings on Saturday which were amazing (and I’ve taken loads of ideas for my own wedding!) so it’s been a very emotional weekend.

Now for Sunday Social – I couldn’t go without doing it, even if it is a little late!

1. What is the name of your blog?
It is Margarita Rambles. My middle name is Margarita and when it came to finding a name it sort of just happened and I really liked it.

2. What do you love most about blogging?
I love that I can just write about what I want to people that are interesting. It’s also that little bit of time where I can just sit in front of my laptop and not worry about anything.

3. Why did you start blogging?
I actually started to help with my anxiety and as a release when I had a bad day. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it at first, but I’m gradually getting myself in the right direction.

4. What is something you’d want to tell someone just starting in the blog world?
Don’t feel pressure to fit in with what others are blogging about – do what you want to do.

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you’ve had?
I’ve not really had one – although it’s nice how lovely people can be.

6. What are three blogs you love?
Fleur and Hannah @ BrideDeForce (as I’m trying to plan a wedding and they give loads of lovely advice and ideas!)

Sorry I’m late but at least i’m here right? Until next time…

Tales from Thailand: Hua Hin

Hello again. Back for more tales? Well, let’s get started.

After we left Bangkok, we went in a taxi to Hua Hin which is a beach resort south of Bangkok. Taxi prices are amazingly cheap! This cost us around £30, and it was a good couple of hours. Unfortunately, I’d felt really ill in the day so I slept all the way.

While we’re on the subject of costs; all our hotels were so cheap too. Apart from the spa resort we had (but that comes later…) the hotels all cost less than £30 each! What?! The one we stayed at here even had a really pretty view. It was one of those hotels where they do fun things with the towels… These made my smile every day.

I really loved Hua Hin, it was so much calmer than Bangkok! Life was just so much more relaxed. We had a longer time here (I think 6 days) so we were able to stretch out everything, rather than cram it into a few days. One thing we did was to see my dad’s apartment out there My gosh it’s beautiful! The swimming pool goes all the way from the building down to the beach and it’s gorgeous.

We rented a moped so we could get around easier and took it out to all the touristy places instead of always getting public transport. One of the days we took it up to Khao Takiab which is famous for all the monkeys that are roaming around. We also took the mopeds to the Big Buddha which was stunning.

Tales from Thailand: Bangkok

I’ve been back from my wonderful Thailand holiday for almost two weeks and it’s been straight back into work so I’m only getting around to telling you all about it now.

Of all the places we went, Bangkok was probably my least favourite place in Thailand, but it was still great.. It was so busy all of the time, just walking through a market was a nightmare. And the traffic! Absolutely manic. It took quite a while to get anywhere, but it wasn’t too bad as we could have a look around. In total we spent around 5 days there; 3 at the start and 2 at the end.

During our first full day we had a day of sightseeing and it was incredible. We took the water taxi to see a temple with the steepest steps I have ever seen. The walls were decorated with china plates and it was beautiful.

We also went to see the Grand Palace which was just a little away from the river. Although the current King doesn’t live there, it is used for official events. I couldn’t get over just how beautiful the buildings were. Can you imagine living there?!

This is still only the first day… Are you still with me?! My favourite way to get around was by Tuk Tuk – I love those things! In Bangkok they’ll take you around for really cheap, but the deal being they’ll take you to a tailors and a jewelers (they get fuel coupons if you stay for over 10 minutes). Will actually ended up buying a suit so it was all good actually. Our driver also took us to a smaller temple which was by a school.

And here’s that dreadful Bangkok traffic to end my first post. Come back tomorrow for more tales from Thailand.
